ELIGIBILITY

Who is Eligible to Participate?

The MI GEAR UP (MIGU) Program at Michigan State University (MSU) is currently serving the largest population of GEAR UP students in the State of Michigan, approximately 2,700 students or more!  The MIGU program begins working exclusively with schools in which 50% or more of the students are eligible for free/reduced lunch and continues working with registered participants until their freshman year of college.  The program is specifically equipped to assist low-income, underrepresented students and their families, while providing partnership opportunities for educators and counselors.

The MIGU Program at Michigan State University (MSU) is currently serving students in the graduating class of 2017 who previously attended one of the following middle schools (during 7th or 8th grade):

 

 

The MIGU Program at MSU is also serving students in the graduating class of 2017 who were previously or are currently attending one of the following high schools:

 

 

Once a student has registered as an eligible participant of the MIGU Program, they will always be eligible to participate in the program and any services offered.
