Born in Detroit, MI, but raised in Inkster, MI. Growing up in Inkster, MI, many of my friends and other neighborhood kids did not pursue their dreams. I was really fortunate to have my mother on my side, who encouraged and pushed me to do whatever it took to achieve my goals. It is because of her that I have dedicated my life to being the change I wish to see in the world.
For my undergraduate studies, I attended Eastern Michigan University, where I received a BA in Communications and a BS in Psychology (2021). Following that, I obtained an MA in Higher Education and Student Affairs (2023). I volunteered with Student Support Programs like the Brotherhood & Sisterhood Scholars Program at Eastern Michigan University. I also worked as a Graduate Assistant for the GEAR UP Program.
In the work that I have done thus far, I have discovered my passion. I want to be that support for students in the same way that my mother was for me. With my work, I hope that students will be able to explore their possibilities and pursue their dreams. No obstacle or barrier should prevent any student from achieving their goals.
