Susan Sheth is director of Gifted and Talented Education (GATE) and Dual Enrollement, and a member of the Pre-College Advisory Board and Leadership Team at Michigan State University. Prior to joining MSU, Sheth taught communications at the University of Michigan for 12 years. Her pursuits for the gifted include creating more opportunities, building stronger educational curricula, and identifying gifted students. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Toledo in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis on gifted and talented education.

Sheth is past president of the Michigan Association for Gifted Children (MAGC) and serves on the MAGC Executive Board as the programming/conference co-chair.

Her goals at GATE include offering gifted programming for underserved populations and expanding opportunities throughout Michigan. Since joining MSU, notable additions to GATE include hosting the Michigan Association for Gifted Children state conference and collaborating with MSU Osteopathic Hospital to create Future DOcs-GATE and Pre-Med ED, summer programs for middle school students interested in health careers. Additionally, some academic year programs expanded into southeast Michigan locations, including West Bloomfield and Avondale. Sheth expanded programming from 3rd through 12th grade to include Intensive Studies for Gifted and Talented students (IS4GT) and the Gifted University for Parents and Precocious Youth (GUPPY).

Sheth has co-edited and published a trilogy of Pre-College Programming in Higher Education books, including a Handbook, Workbook, and an upcoming Case Study.

She has presented locally at the Michigan Association for Gifted Children (Ottawa ISD Spring Conference), GUPPY-Parent University, and the Michigan Pre-College Youth Conference and nationally at the National Association for Gifted Children, the Lilly Teaching Conference, and the Engagement Scholarship Consortium Pre-College Pre-Conference Workshop.
